taste the difference

My garden is finally starting to produce crop! Just cucumbers so far – hoping for tomatoes soon too. Actually, I did just pull some garlic out, too. Haven’t planted much more than that this year – not the best soil. Looking forward to someday having our own place and putting a bit more into the garden.

Have a look at this haul of cukes:

They were really tasty. The hubby didn’t believe me when I said that fresh cukes are THAT MUCH better than store bought ones. Now he agrees. Yum!

Sorry for the poor photo quality – iPad photo!

photo challenge week 32: purple

You know, I totally thought that while I was on holiday, I would be better at blogging, not worse.

I’m sorry.

But there are two pieces of good news:

  1. With my lack of blogging, I have been spending lots of time sewing and crafting.
  2. I don’t have many weeks left of holiday.

I will be working on another couple of blogs in the next few days, so do stay around. I know I’ve also been pretty bad a round-ups, but I’m thinking that at this stage it makes the most sense to do one GIANT round up at the end of the summer. Okay?

Anyhow, here is my photo for today’s yesterday’s theme: purple.

Week 33 PURPLE

I love these little photos. Not sure what kind of flower they are, but I think they may be related to the perwinkle. Love periwinkles.

green blooms

Okay, that cheesy title isn’t very good… I’m aware of it!

But here is another double round up. And it made me think of something like this:

Sorry for the low quality – taken on my phone, not a camera!

And now for the round-up!

photo challenge week 23: green

Easy one this week. Although I kind of think I didn’t plan very well, fresh last week, green this week and bloom next? Sounds like a lot of nature pics – not that it’s ever a bad thing to have natural pics – they’re my favourite!

Here my green! How many shades can you count? 😉

Week 23 GREEN

Look forward to seeing your greens! Remember, you can still join the challenge!

photo challenge week 22: fresh

So first let me say sorry for ignoring you all! I’ve been a bad host…

You see, I’ve been on half-term. And I was a bit lazy about blogging in the lead up to the break, assuming that I would have stacks of time to block…  But… there were reports. And there was a garden that I’ve been ignoring. And other school work, and various other things.

But I’ll tell you what I’ve done. To make it up to all you wonderful people, I’ve already written a photo round-up for the last two weeks (middle and wisdom), which will go live tomorrow afternoon. And I’m going to write about my niece’s other birthday present (the portable playmat went over brilliantly) later in the week as well.

Anyhow, without further adieu… Fresh.

To me, nothing is so fresh as the smell outside in the summertime. Flowers and perfume and wonderful! Amazing and wonderful! Here’s my flower for this week! I love the colours:

Week 22 FRESHI look forward to your photos, and remember, it’s never too late to join us!
